‘Limit’ wins award at Sigmund Freud Festival

Sigmund Freud Film Festival & Challenge in the US awards Iranian short title ‘Limit’.

The annual Sigmund Freud Film Festival & Challenge in the US has picked Iranian short title ‘Limit’ as the winner of its 2nd edition.

With a theme on psychoanalysis concepts, the festival bestowed Best Director and Best Screenplay awards to Javad Daraei for his short ‘Limit’.

The 8-minute short film is about the challenges in the daily lives of physically impaired people who are afraid to involve actively in the society because of the presuppositions and judgments.

'Limit' won in several film events before, including the Int’l Hollywood Hills Awards, the 7th St Cloud Film Fest, the 12th Carnegie Mellon Int’l Film Festival and the 2nd Miami FearFest both in the US.

The list resumes with award for best foreign short film at the 3rd Tryon International Film Festival, best picture award from the 6th Bleedingham Short Horror Film Festival in the US, as well as the award for best fiction at the 10th Southampton Film Week 2017 in the UK.  

Best actor award from the 2nd Piggy Bank Film Festival in India, the Third-Prize at the 12th Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival in the US, best drama award from the Niagara County Community College Film and Animation Festival in the US, as well as best short film award from the 2018 Unknown Film Festival in Russia are all the long list of the honors brought home by ‘Limit’.  

The Film Festival and Challenge screen competitive and non-competitive film submissions dedicated to the theories of the famed neurologist and psychoanalyst Dr. Sigmund Freud.

The festival was held on May 5, 2019 in southeasternmost US state of Florida concurrent with Freud's 163rd Birthday.
